The S. N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences, an autonomous organization under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, invites application from Indian Nationals for empanelment of Science Communicators (freelance services in science communication) from time to time on assignment basis. 1. Post Name: Science Communicator 2. Persons with educational qualification of M.Sc in Physical Sciences and Chemical Sciences with one to two years of experience in science communication including freelance service, having experience of writing popular articles in any media and having good communication skills are invited to apply. 3. Experience of working in roles related to public relations and communication through print or digital or broadcast media (local and/or national), editing and publishing science related content, experience in collaborating with media houses and event organizers are desirable 4. Nature of job: a. The candidates should have interest in science communication, particularly writing popular scientific articles for newspapers and social media. The candidate should have the ability to understand and interpret research articles from any branches of Physics including interdisciplinary interfaces with Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology. b. The candidate will serve as the liaison officer with media persons for dissemination of the R&D activities of the Centre. He/ She will be an integrated part of the Media Cell of the Centre and write, publish and function as liaison officer in the social media for the Centre for dissemination of research and development activities of the Centre. c. He/she will write stories regarding scientific and academic activities on Facebook Twitter and Instagram. 5. Ref. No. SNB/Advt/21-22/011

Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences, Block JD, Sector-III, Salt Lake, Kolkata 700106 with a comprehensive resume complete in all respects mentioning the expected charges (the charges will be paid on per assignment basis (negotiable) for providing freelance science communication services along with the following documents a) proof of age b) identity proof c) educational, professional qualifications & experience, so as to reach within 21 (twenty-one) days from the date of publication of the advertisement.
2. The envelope should be superscribed with the words “Application for the position of Science Communicator (freelance services in science communication)”.
3. Incomplete applications will be rejected.
