Educational Qualification: M.Sc, M.E/M.Tech
Applications are invited for a contractual position under GSBTM, DST sponsored project. The position available in the Bio-conversion Technology Division, SPRERI is initially for a period of 1 year, which may be extended till project co-terminates (maximum up to 2 years).
1. Project: “Development of a sustainable process for production of value-added products (high purity cellulose and fibers) from agricultural residues for industrial application” funded by Gujarat State Biotechnology Mission (GSBTM, DST).
2. Position: Junior Research Fellow
3. Number of vacancy: 01
4. Specialization: In the area of liquid bio-fuels
5. Essential Qualifications: M.Tech in Chemical/Biochemical Engineering Or Masters degree in Chemistry/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Life sciences with NET/GATE/or any National level examination from CSIR/UGC/DBT/DST/ICAR
6. Desirable: Sound knowledge of organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, organic molecules, chemical extraction methods and downstream processing.
7.Job Profile:
Primarily conduct research experiments relevant to the project as assigned by the Principal Investigator, maintain laboratory workbooks, operate bench-scale and pilot-scale reactors, data collection and assisting in compiling report
8. Fellowship: 25,000/- + 10% HRA (based on eligibility)

Sardar Patel Renewable Energy Research Institute (SPRERI) was established in January 1979 as a result of the initiative taken by a group of foresighted persons led by Late Dr. H.M. Patel and Late Shri Nanubhai Amin.
SPRERI is a non-profit autonomous organization registered as a Society under the Societies Registration Act 21 of 1860 and also as a Public Trust under the Bombay Public Trust Act 1950.It has been approved as a Research Association for the purpose of clause (ii) of subsection (1) of Section 35 of the Income Tax Act 1961 and is recognized as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) by the Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. It is recognized by S.P. University, Vallabh Vidyanagar, Junagadh Agricultural University, Junagadh, Nirma University, Ahmadabad as a Centre for M.Tech and Ph.D. Research.
The mission is - To develop environment-friendly technologies for conversion of biomass into biofuels, energy (including electricity) and useful chemicals; To develop technologies for utilization of bioconversion waste; To develop technologies for application of solar energy.
