Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification
Candidates must satisfy all of the following essential qualifications on the last date of receipt of applications:
- Master's Degree: A Master's Degree in Library Science / Information Science / Documentation Science with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever the grading system is followed.
- Experience: At least five years experience as a Librarian at any level in a University / College Library, or 5 years of teaching experience as Assistant Professor / Associate Professor in Library Science, or 5 years' experience as a College / institution Librarian.
- Innovation & ICT: Evidence of innovative library services, including integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the library.
- Ph.D. Degree: A Ph.D. degree in Library Science / Information Science / Documentation Science / Archives and Manuscript-keeping.
Selection Process & Screening Clause
- Scrutiny & Shortlisting: Applications will be scrutinised against UGC qualifications and conditions stated in the notification. The University may shortlist candidates by fixing criteria higher than the minimum based on qualifications, experience, and desirable credentials.
- Presentation: Shortlisted candidates will be invited to deliver a presentation on a vision plan for establishing a hybrid digital library at SGOU.
- Interview: Selected shortlisted candidates will appear for an interview before a Selection Committee constituted as per UGC norms and the SGOU Statutes.
- The decision of the University on selection shall be final.
No TA/DA will be paid to candidates attending the presentation or interview.
Pay and Contract Duration
The position is full-time on a contract basis for an initial period of one year, extendable based on performance review and requirement of the University. The consolidated monthly remuneration is Rs. 39,690/-. This is not a permanent sanctioned cadre post and does not carry regular pensionary benefits.
