Educational Qualification: M.Sc, M.Phil/Ph.D
Sub: Advt. for the positions of Senior Research Fellow (SRF) and Research Associate at PPV&FRA branch office at Shivamogga, Karnataka.
1. Project: Stability Analysis/ Hybrid Seed Production/ DUS characterization of Parental Lines for Rice and Cotton PI: Sh. D.R. Choudhury, Joint Registrar ([email protected]/[email protected])
2. Position: Research Associate (RA)
3. No. of position(s) : One post
4. Emoluments or Fellowship/ month: Rs. 49000 + HRA per month (for Master Degree holders) Rs. 54000 + HRA per month (for PhD)
5. Essential Qualification(s): Essential: With Doctoral degree: Ph.D. in the relevant subject in Genetics/Plant Breeding/Genetics and Plant Breeding/Genetic Resources/Plant Biotechnology OR With Master's degree holders: Master's degree in the relevant subject in Genetics/Plant Breeding/Genetics and Plant Breeding/Genetic Resources/Plant Biotechnology with at least 4/5 years of Bachelor's degree having 1st division or 60% marks or equivalent overall grade point average, with at least three years of research experience as evidenced from Fellowship/ Associate ship/ Training/ other engagements as circulated vide F. No. 2- 9/2012-HRD dated 25.04.2014 and one research paper in Science Citation Inclex (SCI) I NAAS rated (≥4.0) Journal as per OM SR/S9/Z-09/2018 of DST dated 30.01.2019
6. Desirable: Relevant experience in varietal evaluation, breeding, screening of germplasm etc in field crops

4. Emoluments or Fellowship/ month: Rs. 35,000/- + HRA as applicable
5. Essential Qualification(s): Essential: 1)Masters Degree in Genetics/Plant Breeding/Genetics and Plant Breeding/Genetic Resources/Plant Biotechnology and 2 years experience on research project post qualification. Must have UGC/CSIR/ICAR NET/equivalent qualification or the selection process for the Master Degree through national level exam conducted by Central government departments and their agencies and institute such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, IIT, IISc, IISER ect.
6. Desirable: Relevant experience in varietal evaluation, breeding, screening of germplasm etc in field crops
Pay Scale:
INR
35000 - 54000(Per Month)

Selection Procedure
1. The selected candidate shall not claim regular appointment at this Organisation, as the post is coterminous with the project.
2. No TA/DA will be paid for joining.
3. Only the candidate having essential qualifications would be allowed for the interview and the decision of PPV&FRA shall be deemed final in this regard.
4. Concealing of facts or canvassing in any form shall lead to disqualification or termination.

The Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) was established as an Agricultural School at Saidapet, Tamil Nadu, in the year 1868 and it was later relocated at Coimbatore. In 1920 it was affiliated to Madras University. TNAU assumed full responsibilities of Agricultural Education and Research and supported the State Agricultural Department by delivering research products. Agricultural College and Research Institute, Coimbatore and Agricultural College and Research Institute, Madurai formed the nucleus of the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University while it was established in 1971.
