Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

• Most posts (Village Administrative Officer, Junior Assistant, Bill Collector, Revenue Assistant, Tax Collector, Record Clerk, Sales Assistant, Forest Watcher, Forest Guard): Minimum General Educational Qualification – a pass in the SSLC (10th Standard) examination or equivalent.
• Typist / Steno-Typist / Shorthand Typist / Personal Clerk: SSLC pass plus relevant Typewriting (Higher Grade, Tamil & English) and/or Shorthand (Higher Grade) certificates.
• Junior Administrative Assistant (Computer Operator): SSLC pass, Typewriting (Higher Grade), and a Certificate Course in Computer on Office Automation.
• Degree-level posts (Junior Assistant in TN Small Industries / Police Housing / Power Finance Corporations, Executive Officer Grade IV, Junior Inspector of Co-operative Societies): Bachelor's Degree from a recognized University; some posts require a specific stream (e.g., B.Com.) or additional diploma/certificate.
• General Eligibility: Must be of sound health and active habits; character and antecedents must qualify for the service; must be a citizen of India.
• Age Limit (as on 01.07.2026): Village Administrative Officer – 21 to 40 years (General), with relaxation up to 42 (BC/MBC/DC) and 45 (SC/ST); most posts – 18 to 30 years (General) with relaxation up to 32 (BC/MBC/DC) and 35 (SC/ST); Executive Officer (Grade IV) – 25 to 35 (General); Forest Watcher / Forest Guard – 21 to 30 (General). Selection Process & Screening Clause

• Single-stage written examination (OMR-based, objective type) on 10 January 2027, 09:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
• Paper structure: Part A – Tamil Eligibility-cum-Scoring Test (100 questions, 150 marks); Part B – General Studies (75 questions); Part C – Aptitude & Mental Ability (25 questions); Parts B+C combined for 150 marks; Total 200 questions, 300 marks, 3-hour duration.
• Minimum qualifying marks: Candidates must secure 40% (60 marks) in Part A (Tamil); Parts B and C are evaluated only on this condition.
• Final ranking based on total marks across Parts A, B, and C combined.
• No interview is conducted. Selection is based purely on written exam merit.
• Onscreen certificate verification for shortlisted candidates, followed by physical certificate verification.
• Counselling for post allocation based on marks, rule of reservation, and preferences.
• In case of a tie, preference goes to higher qualification → earlier application date → older candidate.
• No TA/DA will be paid for any stage of the selection process.
