2. Qualifications and Experience:

a. Post Graduate from a recognised University/lnstitute with aggregate of 60% marks. 15 years of administrative experience of which 8 years shall be as Deputy Registrar or an equivalent post or with equivalent TME (total monthly emolument) in Govt./Pvt./Public Sector Undertaking.

b. Proficiency in Rules & Guidelines for General Administration followed in Central Government

3. The candidate must be well-acquainted with (or enthusiastic to learn about and implement) computerisation and the use of the internet towards the smooth functioning of the administration.

4. Job Description:

a. The Institute's administration is expected to play a facilitative role to promote scientific research at the highest level.

b. The selected person will have the overall responsibility of running a smooth and efficient administration. He/she will report to the Director of the Institute and interface on a regular basis in a supportive manner with Institute Faculty and Staff at the Mumbai campus and the other national Centres of TIFR.

c. The Registrar also functions as Secretary to the Council of Management of the Institute.
