Educational Qualification:
Scientific Officer (C):
a) Full time B.Tech/Masters degree in Science (with aggregate of 60% marks) from a recognized University/Institute in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Instrumentation or a related scientific discipline.
b) Knowledge of use of personal computers and its applications.
Scientific Assistant (B): Full Time Science Graduate (from a recognized University/Institute with aggregate of 60% marks) in Physics or Applied Physics, Optics, Instrumentation or related fields OR Full time Diploma in Engineering (from a recognized University/Institute with aggregate of 60% marks) in Electronics/Electrical/Mechanical/Optical/Instrumentation Engineering or related fields.
Scientific Assistant (B): Full Time Science Graduate (from a recognized University/Institute with aggregate of 60% marks) in Chemistry/Biochemistry/Biological Chemistry/Analytical chemistry.
Administrative Assistant (B):
(a) Graduate from a recognised University /Institute with aggregate of 55% marks.
(b) Proficiency in word processing/data base/accounting procedures.
(c) 5 years' experience in Accounts/ Purchase/Stores/General Admin /Establishment in a large and reputed organization.

71070-114945/- Per Month
Age Limit: Maximum 38 Years.

About Tata Institute of Fundamental Research
In Bombay the Institute was housed at Kenilworth, a bungalow on Pedder Road. It was inaugurated by Sir John Colville, Governor of Bombay on 19th December 1945. In 1949, as the Institute grew, it found its second home at the Old Yacht Club Building (former home of Royal Bombay Yacht Club) near Gateway of India. The Cosmic Ray Group was the first to start functioning. The Nuclear Emulsion and the Electron Magnetism Group started in 1953. Work in Computer Science and Technology in 1954, and the first pilot machine became operational in 1956. The full scale machine, later named the TIFRAC was commissioned in February 1960.
The foundation stone of the main building at the Colaba campus was laid by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru in 1954. This constitutes the Institute's main campus at present. The modern building on the seafront with gardens, lawns and a seaside promenade was designed by the Chicago architect, Helmuth Bartsch. The building was inaugurated by Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru on 15 January 1962.
Tata Institute of Fundamental Research was established on 1st June 1945. Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) is a research institution located in Mumbai. TIFR is dedicated to basic research in mathematics and sciences. It works under the umbrella of the Department of Atomic Energy of the Government of India. It is located at Navy Nagar, Colaba, Mumbai. Tata Institute of Fundamental Research conducts research primarily in natural sciences, mathematics, biological sciences and theoretical computer science. Tata Institute of Fundamental Research has a graduate program leading to a PhD in all the major fields of study.
