Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

All qualifications must conform to UGC Regulations 2018 (and subsequent amendments) and applicable statutory requirements.

Professor (Level 14)

• Professor (Social Work, Tuljapur Campus): Ph.D. in Social Work as per UGC Regulations 2018 with a minimum of 10 years of post-Ph.D. teaching and/or research experience.
• Professor (Statistics, Hyderabad Campus): Ph.D. in Statistics or a closely related discipline as per UGC Regulations 2018 with a minimum of 10 years of post-Ph.D. teaching and/or research experience.

Associate Professor (Level 13A)

• Associate Professor (Social Work, Tuljapur Campus): Ph.D. in Social Work; Master's degree with at least 55% marks; minimum 8 years of teaching/research experience; at least 7 publications in peer-reviewed journals; and a research score of minimum 75 as per UGC Regulations 2018.
• Associate Professor (Development Studies / Social Science, Tuljapur Campus): Ph.D. in Social Science; Master's degree with at least 55% marks; minimum 8 years of teaching/research experience; at least 7 publications; research score of minimum 75 as per UGC Regulations 2018.
• Associate Professor (School of Social Sciences, Guwahati Campus): Ph.D. in Economics / Geography / Environmental Science / Political Science / Development Studies; Master's degree with at least 55% marks; minimum 8 years of teaching/research experience; at least 7 publications; research score of minimum 75 as per UGC Regulations 2018.

Assistant Professor (Level 10)

• Assistant Professor (Social Sciences, Tuljapur Campus): Master's degree with at least 55% marks in the relevant subject; NET/SLET/SET qualification or Ph.D. as per UGC Regulations 2018.
• Assistant Professor (Sociology, Tuljapur Campus): Master's degree with at least 55% marks in Sociology; NET/SLET/SET or Ph.D. as per UGC Regulations 2018.
• Assistant Professor (Centre for Under Graduate Studies, Guwahati Campus): Master's degree with at least 55% marks in Political Science / Sociology / Psychology; NET/SLET/SET or Ph.D. as per UGC Regulations 2018.
• Assistant Professor (School of Social Work, Guwahati Campus): Master's degree with at least 55% marks in Social Work; NET/SLET/SET or Ph.D. as per UGC Regulations 2018.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

1. Shortlisting: Applications will be screened by a duly constituted Selection Committee. Candidates will be shortlisted based on academic credentials, publication record, teaching/research experience, and other criteria as defined in UGC Regulations 2018.
2. Interview / Presentation: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview (and/or research presentation, as applicable for Professor and Associate Professor levels). The interview will be conducted at the respective campus.
3. Document Verification: Original documents will be verified at the time of interview. Candidates failing to produce original documents will not be considered.
4. No TA/DA: No travel allowance or daily allowance will be paid to candidates for attending the interview.
5. The decision of the Selection Committee and the competent authority of TISS shall be final and binding.

• Research Score certificate / documentation as per UGC Regulations 2018 (minimum score of 75 for Associate Professor)
• Valid Category / Caste Certificate (OBC-NCL / SC / ST) in the Central Government prescribed format, issued within the last 1 year (if applicable)
• EWS Certificate in the prescribed format (if applicable)

Salaries follow the UGC 7th CPC Pay Matrix: Assistant Professor – Academic Pay Level 10 (₹57,700 – ₹1,82,400/month); Associate Professor – Level 13A (₹1,31,400 – ₹2,04,700/month); Professor – Level 14 (₹1,44,200 – ₹2,18,200/month). DA, HRA, and other allowances are applicable as per TISS/UGC norms.
