Educational Qualification & Experience:Intermediate (10+2) or its equivalent from a recognized Board. Higher qualifications are also eligible. For Fire Fighter (Post 26), a valid Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) driving license is required.
Skills:Physical fitness, driving (for Fire Fighter), law enforcement, firefighting, prison security.
Age Limit:General: 18-22 years as on 01.07.2026. The Government of Telangana has provided an additional 5-year upper age relaxation for uniformed services. Further relaxation for SC/ST/BC/EWS (5 years), Ex-Servicemen (3 years + service period), Government Employees (up to 5 years service), and others as per rules.
Salary (per month):
Pay Scale: ₹24,280 - ₹72,850 per month, plus DA, HRA, Medical, Pension, and other admissible allowances.
Selection Procedure:
- Preliminary Written Test (PWT): 200 marks (200 MCQs). Qualifying marks: 30% (OC/EWS), 25% (BC), 20% (SC/ST/ESM/Home Guards).
- Physical Measurement Test (PMT): Height measurement as per standards.
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET): 1600m Run (Men) / 800m Run (Women), Long Jump, and Shot Put. Qualifying standards vary.
- Final Written Examination (FWE): 200 marks (for Post 21, 26, 27, 28) or 100 marks (for Post 22, 23, 25). Qualifying marks: 40% (OC/EWS), 35% (BC), 30% (SC/ST/ESM).
- Certificate Verification: Verification of original documents.
- Medical Examination: Fitness test.
Note: Final selection is based on merit in FWE (for most posts) or FWE + PET (for Post 22, 23, 25).
Application Fee: Fee details will be announced on the TSLPRB website. The fee is determined based on the number of posts applied for. SC/ST candidates from Telangana are eligible for a concessional fee.

Candidates who wish to apply for the Telangana Police Recruitment 2026 must follow the online application process below.
- Visit Official Website: Go to https://www.tgprb.in.
- Register: Register using your mobile number as the User ID.
- Select Posts: Choose the Notification(s) and Post(s) you are eligible for.
- Pay Fee: Pay the application fee online using Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking, or other available modes.
- Fill Part-I Application: Fill in personal details. Upload a combined file of your recent passport-size photograph and specimen signature (JPG, 30-100kb).
- Submit: Submit the application and download a copy for future reference.
- Part-II Application (Later): Candidates who qualify in the PWT will be required to fill Part-II application and upload scanned copies of certificates/documents.
Important: Application dates will be intimated through a Press Release. Candidates must ensure they are eligible before applying.
Important Physical Standards
- Height (General): Men: 167.6 cm, Women: 152.5 cm.
- Height (ST/Agency Areas): Men: 160 cm, Women: 150 cm (for specific districts).
- PET Run (Men): 1600m in 7 min 15 sec (Ex-Servicemen: 9 min 30 sec).
- PET Run (Women): 800m in 5 min 20 sec.
- Long Jump (Men/Women): 4.0 m / 2.5 m (Ex-Servicemen: 3.5 m).
- Shot Put (Men/Women): 6.0 m / 4.0 m (7.26 kg for Men, 4 kg for Women).

After formation of Telangana State, the existing Andhra Pradesh State Level Police Recruitment Board was renamed as Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board vide GO Ms No. 39, Home (Legal) Department, dated 04-06-2015, headed by an IPS Officer in the rank of Inspector General of Police / Addl. Director General of Police designated as Chairman, Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board. The Board conducts the direct recruitment to the Posts of Police Constables / Sub Inspectors in Police Department along with the similar direct recruitment Posts in Special Protection Force, Fire Services and Prisons Department as well as Constables in Transport Department and Prohibition & Excise Department.
The Board also conducts the direct recruitment to the Posts of Assistant Public Prosecutors in Prosecutions Department, Technical Posts in Forensic Science Laboratory and other Posts whenever the Government accords the permission to fill up the Posts.
The Board is functioning to plan and implement effective recruitment procedure and also for timely recruitment by following the rules / procedure laid down by the Government of Telangana in a fair and transparent manner.
