Direct Recruitment (Merit-based): This recruitment does not involve a written competitive examination (Prelims/Mains). Selection is based on Shortlisting (based on Graduation and NCC grades) followed by a 5-day Services Selection Board (SSB) Interview.

Eligibility Criteria
1. Educational Qualification
- For NCC Candidates: Graduation Degree from a recognized University with a minimum of B Grade in NCC 'C' Certificate Exam.
- Final Year Students: Candidates studying in the final year are eligible to apply. They must complete their graduation by 01 October 2026.
- For Wards of Battle Casualties: Graduation Degree is required. NCC 'C' Certificate is NOT required for this category.
2. Age Limit (As on 01 July 2026)
- Age Limit: 19 to 25 years.
- Date of Birth Range: Born not earlier than 02 July 2001 and not later than 01 July 2007.
- Age Relaxation: As per Government norms.
3. Mandatory Requirements & Documents
- Nationality: Citizen of India, Subject of Nepal, or Person of Indian Origin.
- Documents for Wards of Battle Casualties: Must possess Battle Casualty certificate, Part II Order, and Relationship Certificate.
- Physical Standards: Candidates must meet specific physical fitness standards before joining the Academy (See section below).
Selection Process & Physical Standards
Since this is Direct Recruitment, there is no written exam. The selection stages are:
- Shortlisting: Based on Graduation percentage and NCC Grade (Bonus Marks system).
- SSB Interview: 5-day assessment at Prayagraj, Bhopal, Bengaluru, or Jalandhar.
- Medical Examination.

Minimum Physical Standards (To be met before joining)
- 2.4 Km Run: 10 Minutes 30 Seconds
- Push Up: 30

- Squats: Two Sets of 30 Repetitions
- Lunges: Two Sets of 10 Repetitions
- Swimming: 25 meters with any stroke
