Candidate must be a citizen of India, a subject of Nepal, or a person of Indian origin from specified countries with intent to settle in India.
19 to 25 years as on 1 January 2027 (born between 2 Jan 2002 and 1 Jan 2008).
Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university. Final year students can apply but must complete degree before course commencement.
Minimum ‘B’ Grade in NCC ‘C’ Certificate examination with at least 2/3 years of service in Senior Division/Wing. Provisional certificates not accepted at SSB.
Unmarried men and women (including wards of battle casualties).
The selection does not involve any written exam. It is based on shortlisting of applications (bonus marks for NCC grade and graduation percentage), followed by a 5-day SSB interview at Prayagraj, Bhopal, Bengaluru or Jalandhar. Recommended candidates undergo medical examination and final merit list.
