4. Eligibility Criteria

4.1 Educational Qualification & Experience

Officers from the following streams are eligible:

  • Central Government Officers:
    • Holding analogous posts on a regular basis, OR
    • With 3 years of regular service in Pay Matrix Level-5 (₹29,200-92,300), OR
    • With 5 years of regular service in Pay Matrix Level-4 (₹25,500-81,100), OR
    • With 7 years of regular service in Pay Matrix Level-3 (₹21,700-69,100).
    • Note: Officers must have completed at least 5 years of government service.
  • State Govt / PSU / Autonomous Body Officers: Holding regular posts in corresponding grades with requisite experience.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in Administration, Legal, HR, Finance, Accounts, Budgeting, Vigilance, Procurement, or E-Governance.
  • Basic computer skills for a computerized office environment.

4.2 Age Limit

Maximum Age: 56 years as on the closing date of application (13.04.2026). Candidates must be born on or after 14.04.1970.

4.3 Pay Scale Equivalence (For PSUs/Autonomous Bodies)

Officers from PSUs with different pay structures may apply if their pay scale is equivalent to UIDAI Level 6 (₹34,000-71,000 revised / ₹14,900-27,850 pre-revised).

5. Terms & Conditions of Deputation

  • Duration: The period of deputation is 5 years (Minimum 3 years subject to lending organization policy).
  • Service Conditions: Regulated by UIDAI Regulations 2020 and DoPT O.M. dated 17.06.2010.
  • Pay Protection: Pay will be protected; perquisites may differ if pay structure is dissimilar.
  • Medical: Officers may continue CGHS or opt for UIDAI Medical Reimbursement Scheme.

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is a statutory authority established under the provisions of the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016 (“Aadhaar Act 2016”) on 12 July 2016 by the Government of India, under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). The Aadhaar Act 2016 has been amended by the Aadhaar and Other Laws (Amendment) Act, 2019 (14 of 2019) w.e.f. 25.07.2019.

UIDAI was created to issue Unique Identification numbers (UID), named as "Aadhaar", to all residents of India. The UID had to be (a) robust enough to eliminate duplicate and fake identities, and (b) verifiable and authenticable in an easy, cost-effective way. As on 31 March 21, the Authority has issued 128.99 crore Aadhaar numbers to the residents of India.

Under the Aadhaar Act 2016, UIDAI is responsible for Aadhaar enrolment and authentication, including operation and management of all stages of Aadhaar life cycle, developing the policy, procedure, and system for issuing Aadhaar numbers to individuals and perform authentication and the security of identity information and authentication records of individuals.
