Project/ Technical Assistant

Educational Qualification: B.Sc

Applications are invited from eligible candidates (Indian Nationals only) in the attached format (Form B) for the following position in the research project entitled "Shape forming and sintering studies of Alumina, Zirconia and ZrB; Composites" to be carried out in collaboration with ASL, Hyderabad.

a) Nature oI work required for the project:

1. To Carry out planned heat-treatment schedules for composites;

2.Operation & maintenance of various facilities, like furnaces with programmable temperature controllers operating in 900 C to 1750 C under various gas atmospheres, turbo-mixers, Humidity controlled Ovens.

3.Procurement of spares and accessories for the facilities;

4. Keeping record of heat-treatment schedules and results;

5. Field work for getting fabrication work and sample cutting to shape & size on outsourcing /as job-works and 6. Maintaining record of expenditure incurred in the project.

c) Number of Post : 1

d) Fellowship/ Honorarium Stipend : Rs. Rs. 20,000/- p.m. Increment (s) can be given based on number of years of Experience & Expertise of the candidate, relevant to the project, as per the OM of Ministry of Science & Technology, dt. 10th July 2020.

e) Tenure of the Post: For two years (or till the end of the Project) based on satisfactory performance

f) Essential Qualifications : B.Sc. with subjects: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and /or Materials Science. Qualified with at least 60 % marks on aggregate (First class).

g)  Essential Experience :

1. Operation and Maintenance of research lab facilities used for material synthesis and characterization.

2.Knowledge of Computer operation / data entry and internet browsing

3.Experience in Procurement of laboratory consumables, spares /other needs as per purchase procedures of Government Institutions.

4.Experience in maintaining expenditure/ accounts for a laboratory in any institution.

h) Desirable Experience : Hands on experience in handling chemicals, record of maintaining laboratory facilities, expertise / skillset to adapt to the work required to achieve the objectives of the project.
