Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

• Junior Research Fellow (1 Post): Candidates must hold a Post Graduate (PG) degree in Forestry, Botany, Zoology, Life Science, Experimental Biology, Environmental Science, Biological Sciences, Wildlife Science, Hydrology, Geology, Allied Science, Remote Sensing & GIS, Geography, Surveying, or a similar discipline from a recognized university, along with a valid NET qualification (UGC-NET, CSIR-NET) or any national-level examination conducted by Central Government departments and their agencies such as DST, DBT, DAE, DCS, DRDO, NHRD, ICMR, IIT, IISc, or IISER.
• Experience: Prior research experience in forestry, wildlife, environmental science, or related fields may be considered an added advantage. Candidates without prior experience can also apply.
• Age Relaxation: Applicable as per Uttarakhand Government rules for reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/PwD). Candidates should refer to the official notification for exact age relaxation criteria.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

The selection for Kalsi Forest Division Junior Research Fellow Recruitment 2026 will be conducted as follows:

1. Screening / Shortlisting: Applications will be scrutinized for eligibility (PG degree in the specified disciplines + NET qualification). Only candidates meeting the minimum eligibility will be shortlisted.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview to be conducted at the division office. The interview panel will assess subject knowledge, research aptitude, and suitability for the contractual project.
3. Final Selection: Based on performance in the interview and document verification, the final candidate will be selected and issued a contractual appointment order.
4. No TA/DA: No Travel Allowance or Dearness Allowance will be paid to candidates appearing for the interview.
5. Employment Nature: This is a contractual / temporary appointment and does not carry the benefits of a permanent government cadre post such as lifetime pension, permanent job security, or retirement benefits.
