Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) Nagpur, under the Department of Electrical Engineering, has invited applications for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF). This recruitment is for a research project titled "An Intelligent and Cost-Effective Solar PV Pumping System with Open-End Stator Wound Permanent Magnet Motor (i-Solar PMM-PUMP)", funded by the Rajiv Gandhi Science and Technology Commission (RGSTC), Maharashtra.

This is a Direct Recruitment process based on a written test and/or interview. The position is purely temporary, initially for one year, extendable up to three years based on performance. Selected candidates will also have the opportunity to register for a regular PhD program at VNIT Nagpur.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• Required: Master's or equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering or other allied disciplines.
• Academic Score: Minimum 6.5 CGPA (or equivalent) at both Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) levels.
• Mandatory: Candidate must be GATE Qualified.
• Desired: Good academic record and skill set relevant to the project (experience in ANSYS/MATLAB is desirable).

Ph.D. Opportunity

Selected candidates will have the opportunity to register for a regular PhD program at VNIT Nagpur, provided they satisfy the eligibility criteria for PhD admission.

Selection Process

The selection for the JRF post will be based on the following stages:

1. Screening: Initial screening of applications.
2. Written Test/Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a written test and/or interview.
3. Mode of Interview: Physical interview is preferred. Online interviews may be conducted on request with a genuine reason.
4. Final Decision: The decision of the Director, VNIT Nagpur will be final.

Note: No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the interview.
