Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

• Educational Qualification: Passed Madhyamik Examination (West Bengal Board of Secondary Education) or its equivalent.
• Computer Knowledge: Elementary knowledge of computer operation; ability to type in English at 30 words per minute.
• Age Limit: Minimum 18 years, Maximum 44 years as on 01.01.2025. Age relaxation: SC/ST (WB) 5 years, OBC‑NCL (WB) 3 years, PwBD up to 45 years. No age limit for permanent Schedule ‘B’ Stenographers already in service.
• Other Requirements: Citizen of India; ability to read, write, and speak in Bengali (not required for Nepali mother tongue).

Selection Process & Screening Clause

• Paper‑I (General English) – 100 marks.
• Paper‑II (Dictation & Transcription) – 400 marks.
• Paper‑III (Computer Typing) – 100 marks.
• Document Verification & Medical Examination.
• Final merit based on aggregate marks of Paper‑I, II, III.
• No TA/DA will be paid for the interview/document verification.
