Applications are being invited for the following post for the ICMR multicentric project titled “Congenital Rubella Syndrome Surveillance in India” on CONTRACT basis.

1. Project title: Congenital Rubella Syndrome Surveillance in India

2. Name of the Post: Lab Technician

3. No. of Post: 01

4. Emoluments: Rs. 18,000/pm (Consolidated)

5. Location of work: JIPMER, Pondicherry

6. About the study: ‘Congenital Rubella Syndrome Surveillance in India’ multicentric study, coordinating institute - National Institute of Epidemiology (NIE), Chennai. The study will continue till November 2022 and may be extended further.

7. Job profile:

Collect, transport, label, analyze and properly store collected biospecimens at the site. Analysis will include ELISA and RT-PCR. Maintain laboratory records in the CRF. Record all data and results in specified forms (paper and electronic) with accuracy and responsibility.  Maintain equipment logs, calibration logs and ensure smooth functioning of equipment.

8. Essential: B.Sc in Medical Laboratory Technology

9. Desirable Qualification: One year work experience in Medical Microbiology/ Virology Hands on Experience preferably in molecular techniques especially Real time PCR

10. Skills preferred: 

Molecular techniques especially Real time PCR 2. Computer skills including proficiency in use of Microsoft Office applications. Good organizational behavior, problem solving skills and recording data. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and investigators

Pay Scale: INR 18000(Per Month)

Age Limit: 20- 30 years

Selection Procedure

1. Evaluation Criteria: Written test and interview

2. List of shortlisted candidates will be posted in JIPMER website only. Individual emails will not be sent.

3. Only shortlisted candidates will be notified for the written test. Candidates not shortlisted will NOT be entertained on the day of selection
