Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for Stenographer

  • Essential Qualification: Passing Intermediate (10+2) or equivalent from a recognized board/institute is mandatory. Note: For the post of Stenographer, Maulvi Certificate, I.T.I. (two-year course certificate issued by NCVT/SCVT) and Polytechnic (three-year engineering diploma) will be considered equivalent to Intermediate.
  • Technical Qualification: Knowledge of shorthand in Hindi and English and computer typing/computer basics/word processing is mandatory.
  • Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and maximum unreserved (male)– 37 years, backward class/extremely backward class (male and female) and unreserved female– 40 years and scheduled caste/ scheduled tribe (male and female)– 42 years (as on 01-08-2025).

  • Written Examination: Objective type paper on General Knowledge, General Science & Mathematics, and Mental Ability Test.
  • Practical Test: Shorthand and Typing test in Hindi and English.
