Educational Qualification:
Professor:
1. A medical qualification included in the I or II schedule or part II of the third schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (Persons possessing qualifications included in part II of third schedule should also fulfill the condition specified in section 13(3) of the Act).
2. A recognized postgraduate qualification e.g., MD/MS or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto in the respective discipline/subject.
Additional Professor: 1 & 2 same as for Professor.
Associate Professor: 1 & 2 same as for Professor.
Assistant Professor: 1 & 2 same as for Professor.
Experience:
Professor: Fourteen years teaching and/or research experience in thediscipline/subject concerned in a recognized institution after obtaining the doctorate degree.
Additional Professor: Ten years teaching and/or research experience in thediscipline/subject concerned in a recognized institution afterobtaining the doctorate degree.
Associate Professor: Six years teaching and/or research experience in thediscipline/subject concerned in a recognized institution afterobtaining the doctorate degree.
Assistant Professor: Three years teaching and/or research experience in a recognizedinstitution in the subject of specialty after obtaining the qualifying degree of M.D. /M.S. or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto.

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Raebareli stands as a premier institute of national importance located in the heart of Uttar Pradesh. Established in February 2009 under Phase-II of the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY), this mega healthcare project was approved with an outlay of Rs. 823 crore. It aims to correct regional imbalances in affordable healthcare access and provide high-quality tertiary care to the public. The project received formal legal status through a Gazette Notification on 13th August 2013, marking a significant milestone in the state's medical infrastructure.
Infrastructure and Administrative Setup
For the establishment of the institute, the State Government of Uttar Pradesh allocated 148 acres of land. Out of this, 97 acres have already been transferred to the Central Government as of July 2013, while the remaining 51 acres are currently under acquisition. To ensure world-class execution, the Ministry appointed M/s HSCC (India) Ltd as the Project Management Consultant in July 2013. For academic and administrative mentorship, the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MOH&FW) has nominated the prestigious Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, to guide AIIMS Raebareli. Consequently, the Director of PGIMER holds the additional charge of Director, AIIMS Raebareli.
