Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification
Candidates must fulfil Eligibility A or Eligibility B as specified below:
- Eligibility A (i): A Master's degree with 55% marks (or equivalent grade in point-scale) in Computer Science or a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University. Concerned/relevant/allied subjects must be approved by the University in compliance with Allahabad High Court order in Writ A. No. 368 of 2021.
- Eligibility A (ii): Candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC, or hold a Ph.D. Degree awarded in accordance with UGC Regulations 2009 or 2016 (and their amendments), or be exempted from NET/SLET/SET. Candidates registered for Ph.D. prior to 11 July 2009 are governed by existing AMU ordinances and exempted from NET/SLET/SET if they meet criteria regarding regular degree evaluation, viva-voce, and published research papers.
- Eligibility B: In case the Ph.D. degree is obtained from a foreign university, Clause 3.1.1 (B) of the AMU Ordinances (Executive), 2019 applies as per UGC Notification dated 04.04.2025.
Selection Process & Screening Clause
- Shortlisting: The University will shortlist applicants based on eligibility and qualifications submitted.
- Interview Call Letters: Sent only to short-listed candidates.
- Interview: To be held in the Office of the Dean, Faculty of Science on a date and time notified later on the Department webpage and Notice Board.
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
Pay Structure & Appointment Tenure
The appointment is purely temporary till the end of the Academic Session 2026-27 or till the Guest Selection Committee (GSC) is held, whichever is earlier, and is liable to termination at any time without notice. Remuneration is Rs. 1,500 per lecture, subject to a maximum of Rs. 50,000 per month.
