Educational Qualification:
Senior Consultant (Underwater Archaeology): Master's in Underwater Archaeology/ Archaeology/ History (having specialization in Ancient Indian History). Desirable Qualification: PhD in Underwater Archaeology/ Archaeology/ History (having specialization in Ancient Indian History)
Essential Experience: Minimum field experience of three (03) years in underwater archaeology/ archaeology. Consultant should have a good knowledge of Indian history, maritime trade, coastal sites, ancient ports, shipwrecks, etc. Applicants should have excellent knowledge of computer applications such as MS Office, GIS, editing tools, and photography.
Desirable Experience: The practical experience in underwater archaeological fieldworks, surveying coastal sites, and working with boats, will be given preference.
Junior Consultant (Underwater Archaeology): Master's in Underwater Archaeology/ Archaeology/ History (having specialization in Ancient Indian History). Desirable Qualification: PhD in Underwater Archaeology/ Archaeology/ History (having specialization in Ancient Indian History).
Essential Experience: Minimum working experience of two (02) years in the field of underwater archaeology/ archaeology. Applicants should have sufficient knowledge of computer applications such as MS Office, GIS, editing tools, and photography.
Pay Scale:
INR
50000-70000/- Per Month
Age Limit: Maximum 56 Years.

The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), under the Ministry of Culture, is the premier organization for the archaeological researches and protection of the cultural heritage of the nation. Maintenance of ancient monuments and archaeological sites and remains of national importance is the prime concern of the ASI. Besides it regulate all archaeological activities in the country as per the provisions of the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1958. It also regulates Antiquities and Art Treasure Act, 1972.
For the maintenance of ancient monuments and archaeological sites and remains of national importance the entire country is divided into 37 Circles. The organization has a large work force of trained archaeologists, conservators, epigraphist, architects and scientists for conducting archaeological research projects through its Circles, Museums, Excavation Branches, Prehistory Branch, Epigraphy Branches, Science Branch, Horticulture Branch, Building Survey Project, Temple Survey Projects and Underwater Archaeology Wing.
Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) was established in the year 1784. Archaeological Survey of India is responsible for archaeological studies and the preservation of cultural monuments. Archaeological Survey of India explores, excavates, conserve, preserve and protect the monuments and sites of National & International Importance.
