• National Trade Certificate (NTC) / National Apprentice Certificate (NAC) issued by NCVT (NCTVT) in the specific trade as per the post applied for

Trade-Specific NAC / NTC Certificates

• Electrical Fitter: NAC/NTC in Electrical Fitter Trade
• Mechanical Fitter: NAC/NTC in General Fitter (Mechanical) Trade
• Machinist: NAC/NTC in Machinist Trade
• Turner: NAC/NTC in Turner Trade
• Electroplater: NAC/NTC in Electroplater Trade
• Heat Treatment Operator: NAC/NTC in Forger & Heat Treater Trade

Age Limit (As on 02 November 2026)

• General Category: 18–35 years
• SC/ST: 05 years relaxation (only for posts reserved for SC/ST)
• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 03 years relaxation (only for posts reserved for OBC)
• Ex-Servicemen: Period of Military Service + 03 years
• PwD (PH) – General: 10 years relaxation

Selection Process & Screening Clause

The selection is based on a multi-stage evaluation of NCTVT/NCVT marks, trade practical test performance, and an interview:

1. Merit Calculation: Combined weightage of 80% from NCTVT Exam marks and 20% from Trade Test / Practical Test marks will determine the merit order.
2. Document Verification: Candidates qualifying the NCTVT and Trade Test/Practical Test will be called for Document Verification in order of merit, limited to the number of posts notified discipline/category-wise.
3. Interview: Eligible candidates will be called for interview in the ratio of 1:10 (vacancies to eligible candidates). Interview venue and schedule will be communicated through post/e-mail to shortlisted candidates.

TA/DA Provision: No TA/DA will be paid to candidates for appearing in Document Verification or Interview, except for SC/ST candidates who will be reimbursed TA/DA for Document Verification as per government instructions.

Required Documents & Instructions for Candidates

• Original Matriculation (10th) Certificate / Mark Sheet as Proof of Date of Birth
• All NAC/NTC Trade Certificates and Consolidated Mark Sheets relevant to the applied post
• Self-attested copies of educational qualification certificates and age proof
• Category / Caste Certificate in prescribed format (if applicable); OBC candidates must submit the Appendix-1 undertaking in the prescribed format
• Demand Draft of Rs. 100/- in favour of 'Ordnance Factories Institute of Learning, Ishapore' payable at SBI Ishapore (Branch Code 01797, IFSC: SBIN0001797) — if applicable
• Two extra self-attested passport-size photographs with name/details written on the back
• Application form must be filled in Block Letters only
• Envelope must be super-scribed as: "APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF [Trade Name] ON CONTRACT BASIS"

• Incomplete or unsigned applications will be summarily rejected without further consideration

Important Contractual Terms

• Engagement is on a full-time contractual basis initially for a period of 01 year, extendable up to a maximum period of 02 years (01 year original + 01 year extension) subject to satisfactory appraisal and review.
• Employees will work as per the production schedule — typically 08 hours per day, 06 days per week (48 hours per week).
• Contractual employees are entitled to 12 days of paid leave per year, pro-rated based on contract duration.
• Unused leave cannot be carried forward or encashed; employees generally should not take more than 05 days of leave in a month.
• Selected candidates must undergo a medical fitness test before joining.
• An annual increase of 3% on Basic Pay is admissible during the tenure, subject to satisfactory performance.
• Salary Calculation: Remuneration is computed at 1/30th of the pay at the basic of the relevant pay scale (Level-1 CPC) plus Dearness Allowance for work of 08 hours a day.
