Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

• Young Professional II: Candidates must hold a PhD in Horticulture (Fruit Science).
• Desirable: Practical experience of work in Aquatic Crops.
• Age Limit: Upper age limit is 30 years. An upper age relaxation of 5 years is applicable for SC/ST, Physically Handicapped, and Female candidates as per Government of India rules.
• All things being equal, SC/ST candidates will be preferred as per Government of India norms.

Project Details & Employment Nature

This is a purely contractual project-based position and does not confer any permanent government employment status. Key details:

• Project Title: Formulation and Validation of DUS Testing Guidelines for Water Chestnut (Trapa natans var. bispinosa Roxb)
• Project Sponsored By: Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers' Rights Authority (PPV & FRA), Government of India, New Delhi
• Initial Duration: One (01) year, extendable up to a maximum of two (02) years
• Remuneration: Fixed monthly stipend of Rs. 42,000 — no other allowances (HRA, DA, etc.) are applicable

Selection Process & Screening Clause

The selection will be based on direct Walk-in Interview scheduled on 22 October 2026 at 11:00 AM. The process is as follows:

1. Email Pre-Registration: Candidates must send their complete application to [email protected] or the departmental email within two weeks from the date of advertisement (05 October 2026).
2. Document Verification: Original and self-attested copies of all required documents will be verified at the venue prior to the interview.
3. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed on the same day at the venue mentioned above.
