The Steel Authority of India (SAIL), Bhilai Steel Plant has announced a recruitment drive for Contractual Medical Consultants. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced and retired medical professionals to work with a leading Navratna PSU. The organization is hiring for a total of 16 posts including Specialists (General Medicine & Orthopaedics) and General Duty Medical Officers (GDMO).

Recruitment Type: This is a Direct Recruitment process based on a Walk-in Interview. There is no competitive written examination.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• Specialist (General Medicine/Orthopaedics): MBBS with PG Diploma or PG Degree (MS/MD) in the relevant specialty.
• GDMO: MBBS degree.
• Registration: Must be registered with the Medical Council of India (MCI) / National Medical Commission (NMC) / State Medical Council (SMC) and possess a valid practice license.
• Experience: Candidates with relevant work experience will be given preference.
• Retired Doctors: Retired doctors from SAIL/PSUs/Govt. departments are eligible (except those separated through VRS).

Age Limit

• Maximum Age: 69 Years
• Age as on: 26 February 2026 (Date of Walk-in Interview).

Selected candidates will receive a consolidated monthly remuneration as follows:

Selection Process

The selection for these contractual posts will be based on the following stages:

1. Document Verification: Verification of original certificates and self-attested photocopies.
2. Walk-in Interview: Face-to-face interview with the selection committee.
