Border Roads Organisation (BRO) was established on 7th May 1960. Its headquarters is located in New Delhi.

Border Roads Organisation activities have also helped to accelerate the economic development of the North and North-Eastern border states of India.The BRO builds and maintains roads at high altitude. Border Roads Organisation operates in twenty-two states, including the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
