Recruitment Overview

The Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) – Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), Mysuru, has released Advertisement No. PAT 05/2026 dated 16.02.2026. Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification

• Essential Qualification: M.Sc. in Food Technology with 2 years R&D Experience.
• Job Requirement: Bakery Product Development.
• Desirable Qualification: Experience in Wheat flour milling and their compositional variation or equivalent will be preferred.

2. Age Limit & Relaxation

Upper Age Limit: Candidates should not have exceeded 35 years of age.

Age Cut-off Date: Age is calculated as of the last date of receiving applications (22.02.2026).

Age Relaxation: Age relaxation is applicable as per Government of India rules:

• SC/ST/PwBD/Women: 5 years relaxation.
• OBC: 3 years relaxation.

3. Mandatory Requirements & Ineligibility

• Candidates must have already acquired the essential qualification. Result awaited or final semester appeared candidates are not eligible.
• Experience Count: The period of experience is counted only after the date of acquiring the minimum educational qualification.
• 6-Year Rule: As per CSIR OM, the total period of engagement of a Project Staff in different projects (taken together) shall not exceed 6 years. Candidates who have already completed 6 years as Project Staff in any CSIR Lab/Instt. are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply.
• Currently employed candidates in CSIR/CSIR-CFTRI must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the current Principal Investigator (PI).

Selection Process

Selection Stages: The selection will be based on the following stages:

1. Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted by a designated committee. Criteria for shortlisting may include:
• Percentage of marks in Essential Qualification.
• Higher educational qualifications.
• Desirable qualification/experience.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
3. Final Selection: Based on interview performance and availability of funds.
