CSIR CFTRI Walk-In Interview 2026 for Project Assistant I & Project Associate I Posts – 2 Vacancies, Mysuru

Post-Wise Vacancy & Pay Scale

Both positions are project-funded under Project No. GAP000684 – "Production of soybean-based functional foods using microbial resources isolated from traditionally fermented foods of North East India".

Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

• Project Assistant – I (PA-I): B.Sc. in Microbiology or equivalent from a recognized university.
• Project Associate – I (PAT-I): M.Sc. in Microbiology or equivalent from a recognized university.

Desirable Qualification/Experience: Experience in fermented probiotics, postbiotics, gut microbiota studies will be preferred.

Age Limit & Relaxation

The upper age limit is 35 years for Project Assistant – I. Age will be calculated as on the date of the walk-in interview.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

Selection will be made solely through a walk-in interview held on 16 October 2026 at the CFTRI campus in Mysuru. In the event of a large number of eligible candidates, the duly constituted selection committee may adopt criteria to shortlist candidates based on:

• Percentage of marks obtained in the essential qualification
• Higher educational qualifications
• Desirable qualification or experience
• Any other methodology deemed fit by the committee

No TA/DA will be paid to candidates for attending the interview.

Required Documents & Instructions for Candidates

1. Download and fill the Application Form (Annexure-I) from the Download CSIR CFTRI PAT 64/2026 Official Notification & Application Form.
2. Attend the walk-in interview on 16 October 2026 at the designated reporting time at CSIR-CFTRI, Opposite Railway Museum, Mysuru.
3. Carry all original certificates along with self-attested copies of educational and experience testimonials.
4. Bring a valid government-issued photo identity proof (Voter ID / PAN Card / Driving License / Passport / Aadhaar Card).
5. Carry one recent passport-size photograph.
6. Produce category/caste certificate in the proper format issued by the Appropriate Authority (if applicable).
7. Submit No Objection Certificate (Annexure-II) if pursuing a higher degree under AcSIR or a university having a MoU with CSIR (if applicable).

Important Conditions

• No candidate will be allowed to appear for the interview without original certificates.
• The total period of engagement of project personnel across CSIR laboratories shall not exceed 06 years cumulatively. Applicants who have already completed 6 years as project staff in any CSIR lab are not eligible.
• The engagement is initially for a period up to March 2027 and may be extendable up to October 2027 based on project requirements.
• Selected candidates must submit one month's prior notice or deposit one month's stipend in lieu if they wish to discontinue before completing the tenure.
• Canvassing in any form will be treated as a disqualification.
