Eligibility for Junior Scientific Assistant (Biology)

  • Essential: Master's degree in Zoology or Botany or Microbiology or Anthropology or Biology or Human Biology or Life Science or Biochemistry or Genetics or Biotechnology or Molecular Biology or Forensic Science with Zoology or Botany as one of the subjects/papers during all three years of B.Sc. OR B.E./B.Tech. in Biotechnology.

Eligibility for Junior Scientific Assistant (Cyber Forensic)

  • Essential: Master's degree in Computer Science/Computer Application/Information Technology/Physics with specialization in Electronics/Cyber Security. OR B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering/Information Technology/Electronics & Communication Engineering/Electricals & Electronics Engineering.

Eligibility for Junior Scientific Assistant (Physics)

  • Essential: Master's degree in Physics/Forensic Science with Physics as one of the subjects studied for at least two years/four semesters at B.Sc. level.

Eligibility for Junior Scientific Assistant (Chemistry)

  • Essential: Master's degree in Chemistry or Toxicology or Biochemistry or Forensic Science with Chemistry as one of the subjects/papers during all three years of B.Sc. level.

Eligibility for Junior Scientific Assistant (Ballistics)

  • Essential: Master's degree in Physics/Mathematics/Applied Mathematics/Forensic Science with Physics or Mathematics as one of the subjects/papers during all three years of B.Sc. level.

About Central Forensic Science Laboratory

The Central Forensic Science Laboratory, Hyderabad or popularly known as CFSL, Hyderabad, was established in the Year 1967 and is one of the six Central Forensic Science Laboratories in India. CFSL, Hyderabad is situated at Ramanthapur, which is about 10 km from the heart of the City. The Laboratory is presently working under the administrative control of the Directorate of Forensic Science Services, WS Division, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, New Delhi.

This Laboratory is one of the Premier Forensic Laboratories in the country with 10 Divisions namely Ballistics, Biology, Chemistry, Digital Forensic (NCFL-E), DNA Profiling, Forensic Questioned Documents, Explosives, Toxicology, Physics, and Physiology. The Central Forensic Science Laboratory, Hyderabad is committed to delivering quality work from all its functional disciplines and is having a strong vision to be the leading Forensic Science Laboratory of the Nation. This laboratory always tries to provide prompt and dependable services of international standards to the Criminal justice system with a Motto of Promoting good practices and standards.

The experts of CFSL examine the exhibits forwarded by various Law Enforcement and Investigating Agencies under the Central, State, and Public sectors and provide analysis Reports/Opinions. Further, they depose Evidence before the Hon'ble Judiciary/Enquiry authorities as EXPERT WITNESS and substantiate their reports/opinions.

This Laboratory also provides services/assistance to the Government Investigating Agencies in the search and seizure of evidence at the Scene of Crime. All correspondence for services/assistance should be addressed to the Director, Central Forensic Science Laboratory, Directorate of Forensic Science Services, MHA, Govt. of India, CFI's Campus, Ramanthapur, Hyderabad-500013 Telangana.

This Laboratory also imparts training in the field of Forensic Science through internal Skill development Programs/Modules and by deputing its Experts/ Scientists at various Central/State Police Training Institutions. The laboratory also undertakes R&D work in the field of Forensic Science.
