Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for Panel Advocate (Supreme Court of India)

  • Essential: Advocate on Record under Supreme Court Rules 1966 practicing before Hon'ble Supreme Court of India.
  • Experience: Not less than 08 years professional experience as an Advocate from the date of enrolment in Bar Council.

Eligibility for Panel Advocate (High Court of Delhi)

  • Essential: Advocate enrolled with Bar Council of India.
  • Experience: Not less than 06 years professional experience as an Advocate from the date of enrolment.

Eligibility for Panel Advocate (National Green Tribunal)

  • Essential: Advocate enrolled with Bar Council of India.
  • Experience: Not less than 06 years professional experience as an Advocate from the date of enrolment.
  • Desirable: Experience of conducting cases on Environmental Laws in the NGT.

Eligibility for Panel Advocate (District Courts)

  • Essential: Advocate enrolled with Bar Council of India or State Bar Councils and member of District Bar Association.
  • Experience: Not less than 04 years professional experience as an Advocate from the date of enrolment.

Eligibility for Panel Advocate (CAT/Other Tribunals)

  • Essential: Advocate enrolled with Bar Council of India or State Bar Councils.
  • Experience: Not less than 06 years professional experience as an Advocate from the date of enrolment.
  • Desirable: Already empanelled with Pollution Control Boards, Commission, Central/State Government, MoEF&CC, other Government Ministries, Statutory Organisations, PSUs, and Central/State Government Departments.

About Central Pollution Control Board

The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), statutory organisation, was constituted in September, 1974 under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974. Further, CPCB was entrusted with the powers and functions under the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981.

It serves as a field formation and also provides technical services to the Ministry of Environment and Forests of the provisions of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986. Principal Functions of the CPCB, as spelt out in the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974, and the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981, (i) to promote cleanliness of streams and wells in different areas of the States by prevention, control and abatement of water pollution, and (ii) to improve the quality of air and to prevent, control or abate air pollution in the country.
