One post of Senior Research Fellow is to be filled under the time bound project entitled "Targeted editing of potato genome to develop variety specific True Potato Seed (TPs)" on purely contractual basis which will be co-terminus with the project/ completion of tenure as per the details given as under: Advt. No. 02/2022/Estt. 1. Name of the Post: Senior Research Fellow 2. No of Post: 01 3. Name of the project: Targeted editing of potato genomee to develop variety specific True Potato Seed (TPS) Duration: 31.10.2022 4. Essential Qualification: Master degree in Plant Biotechnology/ Plant Breeding/ Horticulture/ Agriculture/ Biochemistry with 4 years/ 5 years of Bachelor's degree. OR Candidates having postgraduate degree in Basic Sciences with 3 years Bachelor's degree and 2 years Master's degree should have qualified NET qualifications and 2 years research experience. 5. Monthly emoluments: Rs. 31,000/- + HRA

1. Interested and eligible candidates may download the prescribed proforma of application from Institute website (htps://cpri.icar.gov.in)and submit physical application along with all enclosers {i.e. self attested copies of:
1) educational qualification from 10th onwards,
2) copies of relevant experience,
3) publications,
4) copy of residential proof & identity proof (preferably Aadhar Card etc.)} to the Asstt. Admn. Officer (Establishment), ICAR-CPRI, Shimla by post or on e-mail ID : [email protected] on or before 25.03.2022.
2. The documents so submitted will be examined & screened. Only candidates qualifying the documentary screening stage will be selected for interview. The candidate shall also have to inform valid e-mail ID, mobile number &WhatsApp number on which scheduled date, time, venue and link for online interview, as the case may be, will be intimated later on.

Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR)-Central Potato Research Institute (CPRI) was established during August 1949 at Patna (Bihar, India) on the recommendation of the Agricultural Advisor to the Government of India, Sir Herbert Steward under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India. The institute was later on, shifted to Shimla, Himachal Pradesh in 1956 in order to facilitate hybridization work in potato breeding and maintain seed potato health. It was transferred to the ICAR in April 1966.
