Vacancy Details and Pay Scale – CMRL Recruitment 2026

A total of 6 vacancies are available across five post categories. The salary is highly attractive as per 7th CPC / IDA pay scales.

Note for Deputationists: Option to draw pay from parent organization plus allowances, or equivalent IDA pay scale in CMRL.

Eligibility Criteria – CMRL Recruitment 2026

Separate eligibility requirements for Government, Metro/PSU, and Private Sector candidates. Detailed experience requirements are given in the official notification. Below is a summary.

Chief General Manager (Electrical Systems & Rolling Stock)

• Govt: Officer with 5 years in SAG or 5 years as Chief Engineer in State Govt.
• Metro/PSU: Minimum 25 years executive experience with 3 years as GM in IDA scale Rs. 1,20,000-2,80,000.
• Private: Minimum 25 years with 3 years in top management reporting to Director/Board in a company with project size ≥ Rs. 500 crore or turnover ≥ Rs. 100 crore.

General Manager (Electrical Systems & Rolling Stock)

• Govt: Officer working in SAG or Chief Engineer.
• Metro/PSU: Minimum 20 years with 3 years as AGM in IDA scale Rs. 1,00,000-2,60,000.
• Private: Minimum 20 years with 3 years in equivalent top management.

Educational Qualification – CMRL Recruitment 2026

Age Limit and Relaxation

Maximum age as on 01-07-2026:

• CGM/GM: 55 years
• JGM (Architect): 43 years
• DGM (Finance & Accounts): 40 years
• Manager (Architect): 38 years

Age Relaxation: SC/ST – 5 years; MBC/BC – 2 years; Differently Abled – up to 10 years; Ex-Servicemen – as per rules. Maximum age after relaxation cannot exceed 58 years.
