Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for Sheet Metal Worker

• Essential Qualification: Pass in SSLC and ITI – NTC (National Trade Certificate) in the trade of Sheet Metal Worker.
• Experience: Minimum of three years post qualification experience/training in fabrication, i.e., cutting, fit-up, and welding process.

Eligibility for Welder

• Essential Qualification: Pass in SSLC and ITI – NTC in the trade of Welder/Welder (Gas & Electric).
• Experience: Minimum of three years post qualification experience/training in the relevant trade.

Eligibility for Fitter

• Essential Qualification: Pass in SSLC and ITI – NTC in the trade of Fitter.
• Experience: Minimum of three years post qualification experience/training in the relevant trade.

Eligibility for Electrician

• Essential Qualification: Pass in SSLC and ITI – NTC in the trade of Electrician.
• Experience: Minimum of three years post qualification experience/training in the relevant trade.

Eligibility for Mechanic Diesel

• Essential Qualification: Pass in SSLC and ITI – NTC in the trade of Mechanic Diesel.

• Essential Qualification: Pass in SSLC and ITI – NTC in the trade of Machinist.
• Experience: Minimum of three years post qualification experience/training in the relevant trade.

Eligibility for Crane Operator

• Essential Qualification: Pass in SSLC and ITI-NTC in the trade of Electrician or Electronic Mechanic or Instrument Mechanic.
• Experience: Minimum of three years post qualification experience/training in operation of cranes (Electrical).

Eligibility for Instrument Mechanic

• Essential Qualification: Pass in SSLC and ITI – NTC in the trade of Instrument Mechanic.
• Experience: Minimum of three years post qualification experience/training in the relevant trade.

Eligibility for Plumber

• Essential Qualification: Pass in SSLC and ITI – NTC in the trade of Plumber.
• Experience: Minimum of three years post qualification experience/training in the relevant trade.

Eligibility for Shipwright Wood

• Essential Qualification: Pass in SSLC and ITI – NTC in the trade of Shipwright Wood or Carpenter.
• Experience: Minimum of three years post qualification experience/training in the relevant trade.

Important Points on Experience

• Experience acquired after the date of passing of the qualification stipulated shall only be considered.
• Period of post qualification experience shall be reckoned as on 07 February 2026.
• Period of completed Apprenticeship Training in the relevant trade under the Apprentices Act 1961 and any training with remuneration shall be treated as experience for eligibility.
• However, such training shall not be considered as experience for fixation of the consolidated remuneration per month.

Salary / Remuneration

• Basic Consolidated Pay: Rs. 23,300/- per month for candidates meeting the minimum experience requirement (i.e., 3 years).
• Additional Compensation: Eligible for compensation for extra hours of work up to Rs. 5,830/- per month.
• Total Maximum Remuneration: Up to Rs. 29,130/- per month (Rs. 23,300 + Rs. 5,830).
• Higher Pay: For completed year of on-roll experience in CSL or other similar Shipyards, higher pay may be offered.

Age Limit

• Maximum Age: Shall not exceed 45 years as on 07 February 2026 (Born on or after 08 February 1981).
• Age Relaxation:
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years (posts reserved for them).
  • SC/ST: 5 years (posts reserved for them).
  • PwBD & Ex-servicemen: As per Govt. of India guidelines (Max age 50 years).

Application Fee

• General/OBC/EWS Candidates: Rs. 300/- (Non-refundable, plus bank charges).
• SC/ST/PwBD Candidates: NIL (Exempted).

Selection Process

• The selection will be done through a Practical Test (100 Marks).
• Shortlisting will be based on scrutiny of applications meeting eligibility requirements.
• Practical Test will be held at CSL, Kochi.
• Minimum Pass Marks:
  • Unreserved & EWS: 50%
  • OBC (for reserved posts): 45%
  • SC/ST/PwBD (for reserved posts): 40%
• Rank list will be prepared based on marks secured. In case of a tie, seniority in age will be considered.
