Recruitment Overview

Coir Board, a statutory body under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Govt. of India, invites applications for the engagement of Project/Technical Staff on a purely contract basis at its research institutes in Alappuzha, Kerala and Bengaluru, Karnataka. This is an excellent opportunity for qualified and experienced professionals to contribute to the development of the Coir Industry in India. The engagement is for a period of two years or co-terminus with the project, whichever is earlier.

Recruitment Type: Direct Recruitment (Merit-based selection through Interview, no competitive examination).

Note: HRA is calculated as per 7th Central Pay Commission: 10% for Alappuzha (Z-Class City) and 30% for Bengaluru (X-Class City).

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• Project Assistant (Geotechnical Engineer - CCRI-PA-06): M.Tech in Geotechnical Engineering.
• Fitter (CICT-FT-01): ITI (Fitter) with minimum four years of experience in machinery assembly.
• Welder (CICT-WR-01): ITI (Welder) with minimum four years of experience in welding heavy structures.
• Electrician (CICT-ET-01): ITI (Electrician) with minimum four years of experience in electrical connections in machineries.
• Project Assistant (CICT-PA-01): B.Tech/B.E in Mechanical Engineering/Polymer Engineering with 2 years of research experience. Preference for composite area.
• Project Assistant (CICT-PA-02): B.Tech in Textile Technology with 2 years of experience in textile spinning/machine design, OR Diploma in Textile/Handloom Technology with 5 years of experience in textile spinning/machine design.
• Project Assistant (CICT-PA-03): M.Sc in Microbiology/Biotechnology with 2 years of research experience in a NABL-accredited laboratory.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 40 years as of the last date of application submission (22 March 2026).
• Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST/PwBD/Women, 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer). Upper age limit is relaxed by 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST as per Govt. of India instructions.

Mandatory Requirements

• Indian citizenship is mandatory.
• Experience must be counted after acquiring the minimum educational qualification.
• Prescribed qualifications are the minimum; mere possession does not guarantee an interview call.

Selection Process

This recruitment is based on merit and interview. There is no written examination.

Selection Stages

1. Shortlisting: Based on qualifications and relevant experience by a screening committee.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a physical interview at the respective location (Alappuzha for CCRI posts, Bengaluru for CICT posts).
3. Waitlist: Waitlisted candidates may be considered for future project vacancies within one year.

Interview Details

• Interview location: Alappuzha, Kerala (for CCRI posts) or Bengaluru, Karnataka (for CICT posts).
• Date and time will be notified via email and on the Coir Board website.
• No TA/DA is admissible for attending the interview.
