3. Qualification:
a) Economics - " Should have passed M.A in Economics/ Applied Economics/ Business Economics with at least with 55% marks and should have passed B.ED with teaching subject Economics from recognized university or institution as per guidelines of University Grants Commission and should have studied in three years Economics as an elective subject in Graduation. "
b) Commission - " Should have passed M.Com/Chartered Accountant/ ICWA at least with 55% marks or any other equivalent qualification, but equivalency certificate should be given by the concerned University or Institution and should have passed B.Ed from recognized University or Institution as per guidelines of University Grants Commission. "
c) Mathematics - Should have passed M.A with Mathematics/ M.Sc Mathematics or any other equivalent qualification, but equivalency certificate should be given by the concerned University Institution at least with 55% marks along with Mathematics as one of the elective subjects in Graduation level and should have passed B.Ed with teaching subject Mathematics from a recognized University Institution as per guidelines of University Grants Commission. "
d) History - "Shoud have passed M.A In History At least with 55% marks and should have passed B.Ed with teaching subject history from recognized University or Institution as per guidelines of the University Grants Commission and should have studied history as an elective subject in Graduation for a period of three years. "
e) Political Science - "Should have passed M.A In Political Science At least with 55% marks and should have passed B.Ed with teaching subject Political Science from recognized University or Institution as per guidelines of the University Grants Commission and should have studied Political Science as an elective subject in Graduation for a period of three years. "

Department of School Education (DSE) Punjab, was come into existence in November 1969, with an objective to promote and develop school education in State.
The Department of School Education (DSE) functions to make necessary arrangement for smooth conduct of Examination at Middle, Matriculation and Senior Secondary level, make efforts to bring qualitative implementation in School Education.
The main responsibility of Department of School Education (DSE), is to prepare and revise the syllabuses regularly and then prepare Textbooks accordingly.
