Directorate of Forest Education, Dehradun is a premier organization under the aegies of Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Government of India which imparts training to State Forests Service Officers (SFS) and Forest Range Officers (FRO) in the country. The Directorate was part of the Forest Research institute and Colleges, Dehradun and remained responsible for professional and technical level training/education in the country.The post of DFE was created in 1953 under the FRI and Colleges to assist the President FRI.
