- Research Associate (RA): Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Chemistry from a recognized university. Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D. thesis may also appear, but the fellowship will be awarded only after the degree/provisional certificate is awarded.
- Junior Research Fellow (JRF): Post Graduate degree in Chemistry/Material Science/Polymer Science (Basic Sciences) with NET qualification in first division OR B.E./B.Tech in Chemical Engineering/Material Science & Engineering/Polymer Science or Engineering with NET/GATE in first division OR M.E./M.Tech in relevant discipline in first division at both Graduate and Post Graduate levels.
