Eligibility Criteria for District Career and Mental Health Counsellors

Essential Qualification

• Candidates possessing any one of the following qualifications are eligible:
  • M.Sc. / M.A. in Psychology (Applied Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Child Psychology, Adolescent Psychology)
  • M.Sc. / M.Phil. in Psychiatric Social Work
  • M.Sc. in Psychiatric Nursing
  • Master of Social Work (MSW) with specialization in Medical & Psychiatric Social Work or Counselling
  • B.A. / B.Sc. (Honours) in Psychology
• Candidates must have demonstrated proficiency in English (written & verbal).
• Only those freshers who have appeared for their final degree examination and are awaiting their results are eligible to apply.

Experience

• NIL for Postgraduate candidates
• For B.A./B.Sc. Psychology: At least 2-year experience in counselling is required.

Desirable Qualification

• Working knowledge of Telugu language
• Diploma in Career Guidance & Counselling

Age Limit

• Maximum Age: 45 Years
• Cut-off Date: 31st December 2025

Salary

• Consolidated Remuneration: Rs. 30,000 per month
• Conveyance Allowance: Up to Rs. 4,000/- on reimbursement basis
• Total Maximum: Rs. 34,000 per month

Selection Process

The selection process will be based on academic/professional qualifications. An interview will be conducted on a prescribed date & time as decided by the competent authority. A waiting list will be prepared for counselors. If a selected candidate does not join or any consequential vacancy arises, suitable candidates based on experience and qualifications from the waiting list will be given opportunity to join. Documents to prove Qualifications, Age, Experience, etc., must be produced in original when called for the Interview.
