Educational Qualification:
Professor: An eminent scholar with Ph.D. in Demography/Population Studies/ Statistics/Economics/Mathematics/Sociology/Psychology/Anthropology or Geography and published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with, a minimum of ten (10) research publications in the peer-reviewed or UGC listed journals and a total research score of 120 as per the criteria given in Appendix II, Table 2 of the UGC Notification dated July 18, 2018.

Associate Professor:
(i) Good academic record with a Ph.D. Degree in Economics.
(ii) Master’s Degree in Economics with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed).

Assistant Professor: Master’s Degree in Economics with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.

Pay Scale:
INR
Level-14/- Per Month

Age Limit: As Per Rules.

Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics, Pune, established in 1930 by the Servants of India Society, is the oldest research and training institute in Economics in the country. It is dedicated to research into the socio-economic dimensions of the Indian society, and carries forward the legacy of Gopal Krishna Gokhale who founded the Servants of India Society in 1905 with a view to promote education and develop capabilities among Indians for the governance of the nation after it had attained its political independence. The Institute is registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, and the Bombay Public Trusts Act, 1950. Over the decades, the Institute has established strong credentials in empirical and analytical research.
