The State Level Recruitment Commission has advertised 72 posts of Field Assistant (Statistics)/Enumerator against existing vacancies reflected in the Post-Based Roster Register. Of these, 22 posts are reserved for women (RFW), 3 posts are reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), and 2 posts are reserved for Ex-servicemen.

Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

Educational Qualification

• Option 1: Bachelor's degree from a recognised university in any subject, having studied at least one paper in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Social Science, Sociology, or Psychology at the graduate level.
• Option 2: Bachelor's degree in any subject with 50% marks in Mathematics at the 12th standard.
• Language Knowledge: English and any one local language (Assamese, Bengali, or Bodo) as subjects during HSLC (Class 10).
• Computer Knowledge: Knowledge of computers along with comfort in keying data through a handheld device. Must hold a Computer Course Certificate of minimum 6 months duration from a Government recognized Institute and upload the same during application.

Age Limit (as on 01 January 2026)

Age Proof: Age will be calculated based on HSLC/Class X Pass Certificate or HSLC/Class X Admit Card issued by a recognized Board/Council where the date of birth is clearly reflected. No other documents are accepted for age proof.

Additional Conditions

• Candidates must be Indian citizens as defined under Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India.
• Must hold a valid Employment Exchange registration certificate in the State of Assam.
• Candidates already in regular Government service must produce an No Objection Certificate (NOC) issued by the Competent Authority as and when asked.
• Candidates must submit a declaration regarding "The Small Family Norms" in Form-A as and when asked.
• Candidates seeking consideration under the Assam Public Services (Preferential Appointment) Rules, 1999 must indicate their choice in the application portal.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

The selection of candidates shall be on the basis of merit. The detailed selection procedure and examination pattern will be published on the application portal (sebaonline.org) from the starting date of application, i.e., 15 October 2026.

1. Written Examination: A written test will be conducted as part of the merit-based selection. The exam pattern, syllabus, and date will be announced on the application portal.
2. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates from the written examination will be called for document verification against their original certificates.
3. PwBD Medical Examination: Selected PwBD candidates will undergo a medical examination by a constituted Board to ascertain benchmark disability status. Appointment will be granted only after ascertaining benchmark disability of 40% or more.

Important Clauses:

• Canvassing directly or indirectly shall disqualify a candidate.
• No TA/DA will be admissible for attending the examination.
• There will be no preference for place of posting.
• The Commission reserves the right to cancel the candidature of any candidate as and when any ineligibility condition is detected.
• If any information declared by the candidate is found to be false at any stage, the candidate will be penalized as per prevailing law/rules.
• The decision of the Commission regarding eligibility for admission to the examination shall be final.
• Any provision of the advertisement may be changed at the discretion of the Commission, and changes will be duly notified.
