The Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC) has released an official notification for the recruitment of 1672 Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs) in Computer Science. Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• Post Graduate Teacher (Computer Science):
  • M.Sc. in Computer Science / MCA (3 years) / BE/B.Tech in Computer Science/IT/Engineering (Regular mode) with at least 55% marks.
  • Relaxation: 50% marks for SC/PwBD candidates.
  • Teaching Certification: Must have passed HTET/STET or equivalent (mandatory for the subject).
  • Language: Must have passed Matriculation in Hindi or Sanskrit.

• Minimum Age: 18 Years
• Maximum Age: 42 Years

Age Relaxation

• 5 years relaxation is provided for candidates belonging to SC, BC, PwBD, Ex-servicemen, and others as per Haryana Government rules.

Examination Structure & Selection Process

The selection process comprises three stages. Candidates must qualify each stage to proceed to the next.

1. Screening Test (Objective)

• Mode: Computer Based Test (CBT) or OMR Sheet (Likely).
• Questions: 100 MCQs
• Marks: 100
• Duration: Not specified (usually 90 minutes).
• Qualifying Marks: Candidates must secure at least 25% to qualify.
• Negative Marking: Yes. 0.25 marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer.

2. Subject Knowledge Test (Descriptive/Objective)

• Marks: 150
• Duration: 3 hours
• Syllabus: Topics based on Computer Science syllabus, including Python programming, Data Structures, DBMS, etc.

3. Interview

• Weightage: 12.5% of the total marks.
