Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

Guest Faculty – Computer Science & Engineering

• Educational Qualification: Master's degree in Computer Science and Engineering / Information Technology / Computer Science / Computer Applications or equivalent discipline with minimum 55% marks at the postgraduate level.
• Entrance Qualification: Must be qualified in National Eligibility Test (NET) / State Eligibility Test (SET) / State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) conducted by UGC or CSIR. Candidates with a Ph.D. in the relevant discipline are exempted from NET/SET/SLET as per UGC guidelines.
• Other Requirements: Candidates with teaching experience at the Assistant Professor level or equivalent in a recognized university/institute will be preferred.
• Age Limit: As per HNBGU rules and UGC norms for Guest Faculty engagement (candidates with Ph.D. qualification and substantial experience may receive relaxation).

Guest Faculty – Mechanical Engineering

• Educational Qualification: Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering / Thermal Engineering / Design Engineering / Industrial Engineering or equivalent discipline with minimum 55% marks at the postgraduate level.
• Entrance Qualification: Must be qualified in NET / SET / SLET. Candidates holding a Ph.D. in the relevant area are exempted from NET/SET/SLET as per UGC Regulations.
• Other Requirements: Relevant teaching and/or industry experience at the Assistant Professor level in a recognized institution will be an added advantage.
• Age Limit: As per HNBGU rules and UGC norms for Guest Faculty engagement.

Note: Relaxation in qualifying marks for SC/ST/OBC/PwD/Differently-abled candidates is 5% as per UGC guidelines. Full details on eligibility, experience requirements, and relaxation criteria are available in the official notification PDF.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

The selection for Guest Faculty posts at HNBGU is based on the following process:

1. Email Application Screening: The university screens all received email applications to verify basic eligibility, educational qualifications, and experience documentation. Only shortlisted candidates may be invited for the walk-in interview.
2. Walk-in Interview: Eligible and shortlisted candidates will be required to appear for a walk-in interview on 08 October 2026 at the School of Engineering & Technology, HNBGU campus, Srinagar (Garhwal), Uttarakhand. Candidates must carry all original documents for verification during the interview.
3. Document Verification: Original certificates and documents will be verified on the day of the walk-in interview. Candidates failing to produce original documents will be disqualified.

Important: No TA/DA will be paid to candidates for appearing in the walk-in interview. The selection is based on the candidate's academic record, NET/SET/SLET qualification, and performance in the interview.

Contract Duration: Guest Faculty engagement at HNBGU is contractual in nature. The contract is typically renewed periodically based on institutional requirements and the candidate's performance. This is not a permanent cadre post and does not confer permanent government job security or pension benefits.
