Eligibility Criteria for HPSEBL Apprenticeship Training 2026

This Central Government (World Bank) aided program in Himachal Pradesh has specific eligibility rules. Only female candidates who meet the educational and age criteria as on 31 May 2026 are eligible.

Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Maximum Age: 30 years (as on 31-05-2026)
  • Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/PwD candidates of Himachal Pradesh.

Candidates who have already undergone apprenticeship training or have more than one year of job experience after qualification are not eligible.

Stipend and Training Terms

The HPSEBL offers a fixed monthly stipend during the one-year training period.

  • Monthly Stipend: Rs. 12,300/-
  • Training Duration: Strictly One Year (no extension).
  • No Additional Benefits: HRA, conveyance, medical facilities, or accommodation are not provided.

Himachal Pradesh is almost wholly mountainous state having altitudes ranging from 350meters to 6,975 with climate conditions varying from semi-tropical to semi-arctic. The total population of Himachal Pradesh as per 2011 census was 68,56,509 with population density being 123 persons per sq. Km. Electric supply at the time of formation of the state in 1948 was available only in the Capitals of the erstwhile princely states and the connected load at the time was less than 500 kW.Thus the organization of the power utility in the state began relatively recently and first electrical division was formed in August,1953 under the Public Works Department. .
