Educational Qualification: Project Scientist-E/ (Atmospheric Observations Network) Doppler Weather Radar: M.Sc. Degree from a recognized university in Physics or Mathematics or Meteorology or Atmospheric Science or Electronics & Instrumentation or Electronics and Communication with at least 60% marks at the qualifying degree level Or B.Tech. / B.E. Degree in above mentioned subjects with at least 60% marks from a recognized university/ Institute. Project Scientist-III/ (Weather & Climate Services) Agro-Meteorological Advisory Services: M.Sc. Degree in Agricultural Meteorology/ Agricultural Statistics/ Agricultural Physics / Remote sensing and GIS or equivalent / Computer Science from a recognized university with at least 60% marks from a recognized university or B. Tech. / B.E. Degree in above mentioned subjects with at least 60% marks from a recognized university/ Institute. Project Scientist-III/ (Upgradation of Forecast System) Upgradation of Hydro Meteorological Services: M.Sc. Degree from a recognized university in Physics or Mathematics or Meteorology or Atmospheric Science with at least 60% marks at the qualifying degree level. Or B.Tech. / B.E. Degree in above mentioned subjects with at least 60% marks from a recognized university/ Institute. Project Scientist-III/ (Atmospheric Observations Network) Surface Instrumentation Division: M.Sc. Degree from a recognized university in Physics or Mathematics or Meteorology or Atmospheric Science or Electronics & Instrumentation or Electronics and Communication with at least 60% marks at the qualifying degree level Or B. Tech. / B.E. Degree in above mentioned subjects with at least 60% marks from a recognized university/ Institute. Project Scientist-III/ (Atmospheric Observations Network) Doppler Weather Radar: M.Sc. Degree from a recognized university in Physics or Mathematics or Meteorology or Atmospheric Science or Electronics & Instrumentation or Electronics and Communication with at least 60% marks at the qualifying degree level Or B. Tech. / B.E. Degree in above mentioned subjects with at least 60% marks from a recognized university/ Institute. Project Scientist-III/ (Upgradation of Forecast System) NWFC: M.Sc. Degree from a recognized university in Physics or Mathematics or Meteorology or Atmospheric Science or Electronics and Communication or Electronics & Instrumentation or Computer Applications or Computer Sciences with at least 60% marks at the qualifying degree level. Or B.Tech / BE Degree in above mentioned subjects with at least 60% marks from a recognized university/ Institute. Scientific Assistant: Bachelor’s Degree in Science with Physics as one of the subjects from a recognised institution or university; OR Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Applications or Electronics or Electronics and Communication Engineering or Electronics Telecommunication Engineering or Instrumentation or Information Technology or Telecommunication Engineering or Communication Engineering from recognised institution or university. Admin Assistant: (a) Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised University or Institute; and (b) Passed Computer Proficiency Test.
Pay Scale: INR 29200-78000/- Per Month
Age Limit: Maximum 45 Years.
Selection Procedure: The prescribed essential qualifications are minimum requirements and the mere possession of the same does not entitle candidates to be called for interview. If the numbers of applications, received in response to advertisement are large, it will not be convenient or possible to call all candidates for interview. Hence, India Meteorological Department (IMD) may restrict the number of candidates to be called for interview before Selection Board to the reasonable limit through screening process
