Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification
Senior Research Fellow (SRF) – Qualification
- Master's degree in Vegetable Science / Horticulture / Genetics and Plant Breeding / Plant Biotechnology with a 4-year or 5-year Bachelor's degree.
- Candidates holding a post-graduate degree with a 3-year Bachelor's degree and 2-year Master's degree must possess NET qualification and 2 years of research experience, as per OM No. Edn./6/27/2014/HRD dated 13-07-2015, OM No. Agril. Edn. 6/27/2014-HRD dated 09-10-2015 of the Council, and OMSR/S9/Z-09/2018 of DST dated 30-01-2019.
- Desirable: Experience in handling plant growth and yield experiments, crop data recording, and basic statistical analysis in vegetable crops related to DUS testing.
Young Professional-I (YP-I) – Qualification
- Graduate with at least 60% marks in relevant Agriculture Sciences / Engineering / Technology, as per ICAR OM No. F. No. Agricul.Edn.1-06/2020-A&P dated 04.12.2020.
- Desirable (one YP-I post): Experience in laboratory work related to PCR, genomics, and molecular markers.
- Desirable (one YP-I post): Experience in handling plant growth and yield experiments, crop data recording, and basic statistical analysis.

Selection Process & Screening Clause
- Stage 1 – Application Screening: All applications will be scrutinized by the Divisional Screening Committee. Only eligible and shortlisted candidates will be informed by email regarding the date and time of the offline interview.
- Stage 2 – Offline Interview: A duly constituted Selection Committee will conduct an offline interview for shortlisted candidates.
- No TA/DA: No travel allowance or dearness allowance will be paid to any candidate for attending the walk-in interview.
Required Documents & Instructions for Candidates
- Duly filled Application Proforma (Annexure-I) and Declaration Form (Annexure-II) as per the prescribed format.
- Recent passport-size photograph.
- Original certificates and supporting documents from matriculation onwards — DOB proof, degree/provisional certificates, NET/GATE/equivalent, experience certificates, publications, and a copy of the M.Sc./M.Tech. thesis (for SRF candidates).
- One set of self-attested photocopies of all original documents to be carried at the time of the walk-in interview.
- No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the present employer, if currently employed.
- Important: Engagement is purely temporary and contractual for one year or till completion/termination of the project, whichever is earlier. Selected candidates will have no claim for regular appointment or absorption in ICAR/IARI.
- Important: Concealment of facts or submission of false information will lead to disqualification or termination of candidature. Candidates having relatives employed in ICAR/IARI must declare details in Annexure-II.
