Educational Qualification:
Store Keeper: 12th pass from recognised Board/University. Experience: One year experience in handling Stores from any recognised firm or Central or State Government organisation or Public Sector Undertakings.

Civilian Motor Transport Driver: 10th standard pass. Must possess valid driving licence for both heavy and light Motor Vehicles. Experience: Should have at least two years experience in driving Motor Vehicles. Knowledge of motor mechanism (should be able to remove minor defects in vehicles).

Electrical Fitter / Electrician (Skilled): Matriculation or equivalent. Should have successfully completed apprenticeship from a recognised /reputed workshop in the Electrical Fitter / Electrician trade under Apprentice Act, 1961 or under any other recognised Apprenticeship scheme. OR Should have completed training courses in the Electrical Fitter / Electrician trade from an ITI recognised for this purpose and have 1 year trade experience. OR 4 years experience in the trade for which no training is available in the Industrial Training Institutes or other recognised institutions.

Machinist (Skilled): Matriculation or equivalent. Should have successfully completed apprenticeship from a recognised /reputed workshop in the Machinist trade under Apprentice Act, 1961 or under any other recognised Apprenticeship scheme. OR Should have completed training courses in the Machinist trade from an ITI recognised for this purpose and have 1 year trade experience. OR 4 years experience in the trade for which no training is available in the Industrial Training Institutes or other recognised institutions. Should qualify a trade entrance examination.

Turner/Mech Turner (Skilled): Matriculation or equivalent. Should have successfully completed apprenticeship from a recognised /reputed workshop in the Turner / Mech Turner trade under Apprentice Act, 1961 or under any other recognised Apprenticeship scheme. OR Should have completed training courses in the Turner / Mech Turner trade from an ITI recognised for this purpose and have 1 year trade experience. OR 4 years experience in the trade for which no training is available in the Industrial Training Institutes or other recognised institutions.

Carpenter (Skilled): Matriculation or equivalent. Should have successfully completed apprenticeship from a recognised /reputed workshop in the Carpentry trade under Apprentice Act, 1961 or under any other recognised Apprenticeship scheme. OR Should have completed training courses in the Carpentry trade from an ITI recognised for this purpose and have 1 year trade experience. OR 4 years experience in the trade for which no training is available in the Industrial Training Institutes or other recognised institutions.

Motor Transport Fitter/Mechanic: Matriculation or equivalent. Two years experience in automobile workshop.

About Indian Coast Guard

Indian Coast Guard Logo

The Indian Coast Guard is a multi-mission organization, conducting round-the-year real-life operations at sea. Despite being relatively small, it has a wide range of task capabilities for both surface and air operations. The organization is headed by the Director General Indian Coast Guard (DGICG) exercising his overall command and superintendence from the Coast Guard Headquarters (CGHQ) located at New Delhi. At CGHQ, he is assisted by four Deputy Director Generals of the rank of Inspector General, and other senior officers heading various staff divisions. For effective command and control, the Maritime Zones of India are divided into five Coast Guard Regions, namely, North-West, West, East, North-East and Andaman & Nicobar, with the respective Regional Headquarters located at Gandhinagar, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and Port Blair. The Coast Guard Regions are commanded by Officers of the rank of Inspector General. The regions are further divided into twelve Coast Guard ‘Districts’, one each for the nine coastal states on the mainland, two in the Andaman & Nicobar Region, and one at Kavaratti in the Lakshadweep and Minicoy Islands. Each Coast Guard District comprises of one or more Coast Guard Stations. In addition, there are Coast Guard Air Stations (CGAS) and Air Enclaves (CGAE) for air operations from various locations along the coastline.
