Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for Director

  • Nationality: Indian national.
  • Essential Qualification: Graduation from a recognized University.
  • Experience:
    • Government Officers: Minimum 5 years of regular service at Level-11 or above (7th CPC) in Ministries/Departments, Autonomous Bodies, Public Sector Undertakings, State Government Departments, and State Public Sector Undertakings.
    • Private Sector Professionals: Minimum 8 years of work experience in the field of Art, Culture, Management, or Public Administration.
  • Domain Area: Excellent communication and proficiency in English skills. Proficiency in a foreign language would be highly desirable. Established credentials/interest in the field of Art & Culture.
  • Desirable Qualifications:
    • Experience in dealing with Event Management, Exhibitions, Seminars, and Conferences.
    • Previous work in the field of diplomacy/Art or international relations.
    • Experience in running a Culture-related institution.
    • Experience in personnel/administrative/financial work in Government/Non-Government bodies.
    • Foreign exposure or stay abroad for study/work (preferably UN Languages), Hindi & other Indian languages.
    • Interest/Specialization in any area of Art, Culture, Literature, Traditional Indian Knowledge etc.
    • Practising artists and authors/scholars in the areas of Art, Culture and Literature.
    • Proficiency in Social Media, AV/Stage set up, Graphic Design etc.
    • Adequate experience in Human Resource Management procedures, and IT skills, Financial Management.
  • Age Limit: Under the age of 55 years (as on 02 February 2026).

Selection Process

  • Shortlisted candidates will be called for a presentation/in-person interview at ICCR HQs.
  • Virtual interviews may be permitted only in exceptional circumstances; the candidate must appear physically before the Selection Committee if required.
  • Names of selected candidates will be put on a Panel in order of merit.
  • The Panel will be valid for a period of 3 years and will lapse on expiry of 3 years.
  • Deployment of empanelled candidates is subject to Police Verification, Vigilance Clearance, verification of past service records, Integrity Certificate, Passport & Visa requirements, and training.
  • Empanelment does not guarantee employment, job or assignment; final decision to deploy lies solely with ICCR.
