Applications are invited from Indian nationals for the post of Senior Project Associate in the research area of ultrathin membrane based on crystalline porous organic materials for desalination under the DST Project No. "Centre for Sustainable Treatment, Reuse, and Management for Efficient, Affordable and Synergistic solutions for Water (WATER-IC for SUTRAM of EASY WATER)" funded by Department of Science & Technology, [File DST/TM/WTI/WIC/2K17/82(G)], IISERB Project No. DST/CHM/2018086. Government of India no. 1. Project Description: The project is focused on the development of a highly robust desalination membrane using crystalline porous organic materials. Specific polymerizations techniques will be employed to fabricate the covalent organic frameworks- derived porous membrane. A thorough spectroscopic (XPS, solid-state NMR) and microscopic (HRTEM, AFM) techniques will be employed for the characterizations of the developed materials. Salt rejection, permeance, nanofiltration studies will be undertaken to evaluate the potential of the membrane for water desalination. 2. Post Name: Senior Project Associate. 3. No. of Post: 01 4. Eligibility: Master's Degree in Chemistry from a recognized University or equivalent with a minimum of 60% Marks or CGPA of 7.0 and above at a scale of 10 Candidate must have Four years' or more experience in Research and Development in Academic or Industrial Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations Candidates should have relevant research experience in the field of the project, particularly in the fabrication of porous organic materials and membrane and expertise in kinetics and thermodynamic analysis of small molecule separation from water Candidates must have Mathematics at the 10+2 or undergraduate (Bachelor) level. Candidates should be below 40 years of age at the time of application. 5. Desirables: Candidates with physical/ organic chemistry background with experience of handling inert atmosphere, multi-step reactions, characterizations of polymers, well-versed with electron microscopy, XPS will be preferred. 6. Salary: Rs. 42,000/- p.m. + HRA
