Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Pune is a premier autonomous Institution established by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, for promotion of high quality science education and research in the country. Institute invites applications from Indian nationals for the following post: ADVT. NO. 14/2022 1. Post Name : Research Associate (RA) / Senior Research Fellow (SRF) 2. No of Post : 01 3. Title of the Project : “Generation of prebiotic amphiphile diversity and its role in the sustenance, growth, and division of protocellular compartments” 4. Funding agency : Science & Engineering Research Board (SERB) 5. Project code : 30121568 6. Minimum educational qualification & Experience : Research Associate: Ph.D. in Biochemistry /Biotechnology /Molecular Microbiology or related areas. Senior Research Fellow: Candidates who have submitted thesis for Ph.D. in the relevant areas but not completed defense (i.e. candidates without a provisional certificate of having qualified for the degree) OR M. Sc in Biochemistry / Biotechnology / Molecular Microbiology or related areas having qualified CSIR-NET (Life Sciences) / GATE (Life Sciences) / CSIR-JRF / DBT-JRF / any other National Level Test conducted by Central Government Departments and their agencies with 2 years of relevant experience as Junior Research Fellow / Project Fellow. The period spent as Ph.D. scholar shall be considered as experience for the appointment as SRF. 7. Preference : Candidates having strong background in the fundamental concepts and relevant research experience, demonstrated by at least one to two first-author research publications, in the areas of biochemistry / biotechnology / molecular biology and experience with handling liposomes / vesicles and / or a background in origin of life studies will be preferred 8. Tenure of the appointment : Initially for a period of one year, extendable for further period subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbent and continuation of the project. 9 .Consolidated emoluments : Research Associate : Rs. 47,000/- + 24% HRA per month. Senior Research Fellow : Rs. 35,000/- + 24% HRA per month
