Institute invites applications from Indian nationals having excellent academic record and relevant work experience for the following positions purely on temporary and contractual basis at Science Media Centre (SMC), IISER Pune under National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL). (Project Code: 33818381)

1. Post Name: Technical Assistant (Science Illustrations)

2. No. of posts: 01

3. Minimum educational Qualification:

Bachelors / Master's degree in Science and Diploma / Training certificate in Designing / Illustrations / Visual Communication. OR Bachelor / Master’s degree in Designing / Fine Arts / Visual Communication OR Diploma in Film Technology in Graphics and Animation as a core subject

4. Experience:

a. At least three months of proven work experience (on the closing date of advertisement) in developing Scientific Illustrations, for peer-reviewed journals / magazines / science publication houses, or other reputed organizations / institutions

b. Candidates must share at least 3 samples of their prior published / unpublished work similar to the job requirement mentioned in this advert.

c. Experience in Video production will be an added advantage

5. Job requirement:

Develop scientific illustrations for scientific journals, design brochures, posters, and booklets / books. The incumbent is expected to develop skills in motion graphics / animations for audio-video projects. Support in various activities of the Science Media Centre (SMC), IISER Pune

6. Tenure of the appointment: Initially for a period of one year, extendable for further period subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbent

7. Consolidated emoluments: Rs. 25,000/- to 30,000/- per month depending upon educational qualification and experience

3. Minimum educational Qualification: Bachelor's / Master's degree in Science OR Bachelor’s / Master's degree in Mass Communication / Visual Communication / Electronic Media / Journalism

4. Experience:

At least three months of proven work experience (on the closing date of advertisement) in developing Science communication content in written / audio / video forms for journals / magazines / Science publication houses, or other reputed organizations / institutions. Candidates must share at least 3 samples of their prior Published/unpublished work similar to the Job Requirement mentioned in this advert.

c. Experience in Video production will be an added advantage

5. Job requirement:

Take up content writing for different science communication materials developed by the Science Media Centre, IISER Pune. Participate in developing higher education teaching learning material for Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). Support in various activities of the Science Media Centre (SMC), IISER Pune

6. Tenure of the appointment: Initially for a period of one year, extendable for further period subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbent

7. Consolidated emoluments: Rs. 25,000/- to 30,000/- per month depending upon educational qualification and experience
