Educational Qualification: B.A, M.A

Applications are invited for the temporary post of Language Translators (Remote) for the project titled “Centre for AI4Bharat” a Research Centre, IIT Madras.

Co-ordinator: Prof. Mitesh Khapra, Dept of Computer Science Engineering, IIT Madras.

Duration: Initially for one year, extendable based on performance.

4. Qualification and Experience :Qualification: BA Linguistic, and MA Linguistic.

5.Experience:1-5 years’ experience in annotation/content creation tasks such as translation, transcription, voice recording, etc

6. Pay : Rs. 30,000 pm– Rs. 60,000 pm (depending on experience and qualification)

7.Job Description: AI4Bharat, a Research Center at IIT Madras, firmly believes that AI technology will define the next decade for Indian languages. Paving the way ahead, the Centre is building comprehensive datasets for developing AI technology for all the 22 constitutionally recognised Indian languages* (referred to hereinafter as native language) over the next two to three years.

8. Languages Required: Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, Dogri, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Maithili, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Nepali, Odia, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Santali, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu

c) Paraphrasing

d) Short Surveys

e) Data Collection Projects (e.g. voice recording, image collection, etc.)

f) Linguistic Specialties (Text to Speech, Computational, Phonetics, Pronunciation, Annotation, etc.)
